Bobbie Wilinski
Hi! I’m Bobbie Wilinski and welcome to Bobbie’s Barn!
My passion for collecting antiques and other collectibles began 45 years ago. As time went on, I realized that I could preserve found objects and artifacts by repurposing them and making them functional – turning them into lamps.
All the electrical parts are new, but the ‘bases’ range from rusty to silver, from vintage to retro and from industrial to whimsical. Traveling to foreign countries has given me the opportunity to find some truly unique pieces.
The ‘bases’ are prepared by cleaning and removing rust – but preserving the original patina when possible. Then the socket, stem, washers etc. are painted to ‘blend’ with the object. The wood bases are custom-made by a local woodworker who uses 80–150-year-old reclaimed wood from old structures here in the Shenandoah Valley. Every lamp comes with a vintage lightbulb and a reproduction cloth-covered twisted cord.
I also offer custom work–turning a family heirloom or a favorite item into a decorative and useful lamp.
