Justin Shimrock

Neo-Traditional, New School, Tattoo Artist

Justin Shimrock was born and raised in Orange County, California. Drawing since he was two, he went to Orange County High School of the Performing Arts and worked hard to get into the Visual Arts program. After graduating, he pursued further education and a tattoo apprenticeship, eventually completing his apprenticeship and going on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Laguna College of Art and Design. Now, he does freelance illustration and animation while tattooing full time all over the US.

His style has been developed and inspired by video games, American and Japanese animation, mascots, and traditional tattoo values. It is a unique type of bright color and illustrative cartoon with both unique characters and warped pop culture. The goal of every piece is to create a long lasting and striking image that can be seen from across the street. He also has a street shop background and is willing to tackle most tattoos, including fine line, logos, traditional, and illustrative. It never hurts to ask!

(For every hour that you Volunteer at the Richmond Tattoo & Arts Convention, Loose Screw Tattoo will give you free tattoo time. On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Morning and Monday Morning you will receive $15 of FREE TATTOO TIME for every hour worked and on Friday Evening, Saturday and Sunday you will receive $10 of FREE TATTOO TIME per every hour worked)

We’re taking over the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian and we're sharing our convention discount with you! Stay the night, enjoy the full convention experience, but most importantly, party safe knowing you can have a drink or two and don’t have to drive.

Each night is $193.80 + 3% processing fee. (Cancellations: 24 hours notice prior to check-in date is required. Cancellations after that point are subject to be charged a total of one night's stay. There is a $50 early check-out fee for any reservation that vacates the room early)
Saturday Night rooms are sold out. If you need a room for Saturday use the link on our website to book with the neighboring hotel the Residence Inn.
