The Richmond Tattoo & Arts Festival celebrates 35 years in American tattoo history! The event has been a gathering place for industry founders, tattoo enthusiasts, artists, collectors, and fans since 1988. Today, It showcases the latest trends and innovations in tattooing while honoring the legacy of its founders. Hosted by tattoo legend, JD Crowe and world-renowned tattoo artist Jesse Smith will ensure that this year’s celebration is truly unforgettable!

The event welcomes 150 international tattoo artists who each bring their own audience and fanbase to Virginia. National and local businesses also join us to bring the three-day experience to life for more than 4,000 attendees. Other artists and entertainers round out the festival’s one-of-a-kind lineup filled with meaningful connections and lasting memories. Finally, the event is always anchored by a fundraiser through our Live Art for Charity event, featuring internationally celebrated artists. Promotional Opportunities For Event Sponsors

Below are a list of activities in which sponsors can receive recognition and exposure between now and October 2023. 

Radio and TV: The festival will secure promotional spotlights with local tv, radio stations, Spotify and Pandora. 

Digital: We will be promoting the festival on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter. Our ads will reach an estimated 1.5 Million people within Richmond and the surrounding areas 

Print: We will be distributing 2,500 fliers/posters, as well as 5,000 coasters, within a 100-mile radius of Richmond, VA. Participating artists will share these fliers in their shops, as well. In addition, will print and distribute 2,500 event programs featuring sponsor logos and advertisements. Deadline to participate is July 1.

Headliner: Celebrity Tattoo artist Ryan Ashley is required to share about the convention several times on social media posts leading up to and during the event–the artist has 1.8 million followers on social media. In addition, she will appear as a judge on Paramount’s Ink Master in the months leading up to the festival. 

Press: In 2022, the tattoo festival appeared in 16 different media features on local and national outlets. In 2023, our goal is to appear in 20 or more features. See our media features here.

Billboards: We are purchasing space on billboards on major highways around Richmond. These placements are expected to reach over 100,000 eyes every day.

Email Marketing: The festival will send regular emails to a list of more than 40,000 registrants leading up to and after the event.

Social Media: The Richmond Tattoo & Art Festival will be promoted on social media accounts for Richmond Tattoo & Arts Festival (13k followers), Loose Screw Tattoo (43k followers), and Jesse Smith (260k followers) accounts leading up to and during the event. In addition, participating artists and exhibitors will be provided graphics and copy to promote the event on their channels, as well.

Website: The Richmond Tattoo & Arts Festival website reaches 200k people annually, and 80k during the month of the event.

Hosted Celebrities: In the past, the Richmond Tattoo & Arts Festival has hosted such celebrities as Ink Master Winners: Ryan Ashley Malarkey, Cleen Rock One, Josh Payne, Anthony Michaels, DJ Tambe, and Steven Teft as well as runner ups: Tatu Baby, Kelly Doty and Sarah Miller. Others who have attended are: Ink Master Judge: Oliver Peck, Black Ink’s Melody Mitchell, and NY Ink’s Megan Massacre.

Entertainment: The Richmond Tattoo & Arts Festival features three days of on-stage performances and announcements, which offer in-person and verbal recognition for our sponsors. Some of the entertainment we will be having this year includes daily tattoo competitions, LED Hoola-hoop acts, Burlesque and Fire Performance by Cervena Fox, and a Karaoke Cage Match. In addition, we’ll have a family area, a Live Art for Charity Auction, Food Trucks, Local Artisanal Vendors and much more!

This festival is by invitation-only. By listing an artist, you are submitting them for invitation. All artists must be vetted, and approved by RVA Tattoo Arts LLC.

Each Full Booth comes with 2 weekend passes. Additional weekend passes can be purchased for $50. (5 Max)

    The festival will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond Midlothian. If you would like to stay at this hotel for the duration of the festival, please fill out the form below.

    Terms & Conditions

    The Undersigned hereby affirms that the Undersigned has read and understands the Terms and Conditions of this agreement, and accepts and agrees to all of its terms and conditions. The Undersigned affirms that the Undersigned enters into this agreement voluntarily, with full knowledge of its effect.

    The Undersigned affirms that the Undersigned is authorized, by virtue of the Undersigned's title with the business entity, to execute this document by the business entity or such other person on whose behalf it is submitted.

    The Undersigned affirms that the Undersigned is insured and will not hold the Shamin/Koger LLC and/or RVA Tattoo Arts LLC responsible for any negative repercussions that my arise during your participation in working the Richmond Tattoo and Arts Festival.

    The Sponsor agrees to comply with all rules and guidelines set forth by RVA Tattoo Arts LLC and the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian. Removal from the event is at the discretion of the event organizers, and all deposits and/or payments will be forfeited. This is a family friendly event. Please act accordingly.

    Each full booth is defined as follows: A pipe and drape area with one (1) 8′ table,  one (1) 6′ table, four (4) chairs, two (2) trashcans, and an electrical hookup.  Placement of booth within floor plan is at the discretion of RVA Tattoo Arts LLC. Any additional material provided to the Sponsor (s) is at the discretion of the promoter. All Artists working in your booth must be vetted, and approved by RVA Tattoo Arts LLC.

    Each double booth is defined as follows: A pipe and drape area with two (2) 8′ tables, two (2) 6′ tables, eight (8) chairs, four (4) trashcans, and an electrical hookup. Placement of booth within floor plan is at the discretion of RVA Tattoo Arts LLC. Any additional material provided to the Sponsor (s) is at the discretion of the promoter. All Artists working in your booth must be vetted, and approved by RVA Tattoo Arts LLC.

    Each triple booth is defined as follows: A pipe and drape area with three (3) 8′ tables, three (3) 6′ tables, twelve (12) chairs, six (6) trashcans, and an electrical hookup. Placement of booth within floor plan is at the discretion of RVA Tattoo Arts LLC. Any additional material provided to the Sponsor (s) is at the discretion of the promoter. All Artists working in your booth must be vetted, and approved by RVA Tattoo Arts LLC.

    The Sponsor agrees to not alter the size of the booth assigned to them. The Sponsor also agrees not to tape, nail, or use other adhesion methods to puncture and/or damage the Property of the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian or RVA Tattoo Arts LLC.If damages are incurred, the Sponsor agrees to reimburse the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian or RVA Tattoo Arts LLC. This includes damages caused by themselves, their agents, employees, subcontractors, and guests.

    This contract may not be altered except by amending the agreement in writing, and agreed to by all parties/agents involved including RVA Tattoo Arts LLC and the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian.

    Each obligation or agreement of a party contained in this contract, even though not expressed as a covenant, is considered for all purposes to be a covenant.

    Sponsors selling any merchandise have been provided with a Temporary Sales Tax Certificate/Return ST-50 form. You are required by law to file tax with the Commonwealth of Virginia on all retail sales made in Virginia.

    The Sponsor understands that the sale of tattoo machines, inks, and/or equipment to the general public is forbidden, and in violation of this contract. Any violation of this contract may result in the immediate removal from the event.

    The Sponsor agrees to ensure any tattooer, tattooing in the sponsor’s booth will use single use needles and inks, certified sharps containers for disposal, follow recognized professional tattooing standards, and maintain a clean work station. This includes properly bagging contaminated waste each day for removal and closing down the booth before departing each night.

    The Sponsor understands it is their responsibility to make sure any tattooer tattooing in their booth will comply and follow all sterilization standards and regulations set by the DPOR of Virginia. This includes obtaining a temporary out of state license from DPOR of Virginia. www.dpor.virginia.org
