Chucho

Jesus "Chucho" Rodriguez

As a resident of Joliet, Chucho has been creating public artwork for the past 35 years in and around the Chicagoland areas.

As a member of Friends of Community Public Art, Chucho has completed over fourteen projects which include murals, sculptures and mosaics.

Through Yollocali, the educational division of the Mexican Fine Arts Museum in Chicago, he spent time as a mural instructor with the After School Matters program founded by Maggie Daley.

With the help of this program, he completed five mural projects around the Pilsen neighborhood.

The Mexican Fine Arts Museum also houses one of Chucho's major pieces in their permanent collection.

Chucho has enjoyed painting at several art festivals throughout the United States and his work has appeared in numerous tattoo publications over the years, earning him three major interviews.

Additionally, he has been publicized in graffiti and hip hop books and magazines.

Chucho currently resides in Plainfield and continues crafting artwork as a tattooer
