World-Class Tattooing in Richmond, VA

Tattoo Artists

Since the beginning this convention has been a gathering place for tattoo artists to come together and share their skills with each and their collectors. Jesse Smith has sought to follow in Billy Eason’s footsteps in curating to line up of top level tattoo artists from all styles and backgrounds. Whether you are looking for hyper-realism, American traditional, fine-line black and gray, new school, or anything in between, you will find it here. Our goal is to bring together the OGs who’ve been here since the beginning, the tattoo artist you watch on TV, and up-and-coming artists pushing the boundaries on what a tattoo can be. It isn’t always easy but it’s what this convention is all about!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment with an artist?

Each artist page has a link to their social media or website. Please reach out to them there letting them know you would like to get tattooed during the convention. Make sure to do this as soon as possible as artists schedules fill up quick!

Do artists take walk ups?

Most artists will be booked ahead of time. It is best practice to reach out to them as soon as possible and see if they have availability at the convention. That being said some artists intentionally save time for walk ups so it when in doubt just walk up and ask!

How do I verify that the artist I'm talking to is coming to the convention?

If you are talking to an artist about getting tattooed at the convention be careful it's not a scam. Use this list to cross reference them and if you do not see that artist, feel free to ask us here.

It varies on different aspects like size and complexity. Please reach out to the artist ahead of time to get quotes on your project or find out their hourly/daily rate.

What form of payments do the artists take?

Each artist is different. Some accept popular apps such as Venmo, Paypall or CashApp. However, cash is always your safest bet. If you end up needing cash, ATMs will be available on site. Your best bet is to always ask what payment methods the artist uses before you all get started.

Do artists only tattoo their pre-drawn flash art, or can I ask for a custom piece?

It depends on the artist. Some artists are booked ahead of time while others will bring their own flash. We recommend reaching out to the artist ahead of time to see what their plan is!

If I want a large piece from a specific artist, how does an all-day session work in a convention setting?

On Friday the convention starts at 2PM and on Saturday and Sunday it starts at 12PM. We highly recommend that you coordinate with your artist ahead of time. Expect to show up right when doors open each day. For safety and competition purposes, we do not allow tattooing during non-convention hours.

What if I have a tattoo appointment right when doors open?

If you are worried about making it to your appointment on time at the convention, let the volunteers at the front know and they will be glad to assist you!
