A Tenured History
Every year, we gather at the DoubleTree to celebrate tattoo art and history, two things deeply rooted in Richmond. Although the convention is considered in Richmond, the true physical home is just across the river in beautiful Chesterfield County.

Chesterfield has been the convention’s home base for almost its entire history, and it's packed with historical sites and activities. If you are traveling into town for the convention weekend, make sure to set aside time to explore everything Chesterfield County has to offer. Chesterfield is home to the largest park in Virginia as well as the Metro Richmond Zoo.

Pocahontas State Park
Over 7,900 acres making it the largest park in Virginia
Featuring over 90 miles of trails for hiking and biking.
Tons of fishing and kayaking spots with boat rentals available.
Dedicated aquatic center with a toddler pool and water slides.
2,000 seat amphitheater.
Overnight rentable cabins.
The Civilian Conservation Corps Museum, dedicated to Depression-era workers who helped build the state park system.

Metro Richmond Zoo
Home to over 2000 animals and 190 species from around the world including: Pygmy Hippos, Kumbali & Kago a lab mix dog and cheetah that were raised together, Asiatic Black Bears, African Penguins, Addaxes, Bengal Tigers and Capybara.
Interactive petting zoo with goats, camels, sheep, llamas and chickens.
Feed the Giraffes and Budgies.
Safari Sky Lift and Train Ride.

Chesterfield Parks
Falling Creek Ironworks Park: Home to the first iron furnace in the New World dating back to 1619.
Midlothian Mines Park: Home to the first commercial coal mine in North America.
Henricus Historical Park: Virginia’s second colony town established just 3 years after Jamestown. The park includes a recreated settlement of Henricus as well as tours and farm animals.

Shopping Spree!
If you need a little retail therapy, check out the Chesterfield Towne Center. It's home to boutique shops, local small businesses, and major retail stores. Plus, there’s also tons of delicious restaurants all within walking distance. Did we mention all of this is just a 5 minute drive from the convention?
